At Santo Dental Group, we’re here to provide patients in Red Bank with the professional dental care they need, but we’re also aware that the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak may make you a bit uncomfortable with the idea of seeing a dentist.
That’s why we’re taking a wide variety of precautions to keep you and your family members safe when you get dental care from our team. Read on to see how we’re focusing on safety and protecting your health at Santo Dental Group.
First, we require you to fill out a few forms with information about past travel, contact with people who have had COVID-19, medical conditions that may put you at risk, and signs of symptoms that you may have had COVID-19. This is important to ensure that we only treat healthy patients at Santo Dental Group.
In addition, we have made some adjustments to our hours and scheduling to ensure that fewer patients are in our office at once, minimizing the risk of transmitting infectious disease from person-to-person.
Our waiting area has also been adjusted to remove some seating and ensure proper distancing between each patient. We have removed magazines and other hard-to-clean common objects to help minimize the risk of transmitting infectious microbes.
All of our front office team members are wearing masks for their protection and your protection, and we ask that you wear a mask or facial covering to your appointment to keep yourself and our team members safe.
That’s not all, though. Our dental team members have always worn protective eyewear and masks, but now we are also protecting our patients and staff by wearing gowns, surgical caps, and face shields during aerosolizing procedures. We’ll look a little bit different than you’re used to, but our additional PPE will ensure your safety during these difficult times.
We have always followed all required steps to clean and sanitize our patient operatories between each patient, and we keep logs and records to prove our compliance with legal requirements and best practices for operatory cleaning.
But now, we are taking further steps such as keeping used PPE in the room where it was used for disposal and reprocessing, more thorough disinfection of hard surfaces, medical grade HEPA filters in each room, and other such steps that will help prevent cross-contamination and ensure that each patient has a completely clean and safe operatory during their visit.
Not only that, but we’re also cleaning our common areas more frequently, and disinfecting door knobs, counters, tables, chairs, bathrooms, and other regularly-touched surfaces to keep you safe.
